Thread Together is a community-driven initiative built on a simple idea — clothing should be worn, loved, repaired, shared, and passed on, not wasted.
Be part of a day full of connection, creativity, and conscious fashion. Whether you’re a donor, volunteer, tailor, or just curious about sustainable style, this event is for you!
Learn, share, and take action while meeting like-minded community members and discovering ways to make a real impact.
Event Highlights:
Clothing swaps and upcycling demos
Hands-on repair & mending workshops
Opportunities to connect with tailors, volunteers, and partners
Don’t miss out — register now and be part of the movement!
Behind every repaired seam and revived garment is a skilled hand and a caring heart. Our tailors are the backbone of Thread Together — transforming clothing through mending, alterations, and creative upcycling.
They don’t just fix clothes. They extend stories, preserve memories, and reduce waste one stitch at a time.
Mend and repair donated garments
Alter clothing for better fit and usability
Upcycle pieces into new, wearable creations
Support community workshops and skill-sharing sessions
By restoring clothing instead of discarding it, our tailors help reduce textile waste while making quality garments accessible to more people in the community.
Are you a tailor, designer, or sewing enthusiast who believes in sustainable fashion?
We’d love to collaborate with you.

Inspired by her mother, Akhila discovered her love for sewing early and made her first saree underskirt in 9th grade. A sewing machine gifted in 1999 deepened her passion, later refined with training in India in 2008. Today, she turns fabric into art with creativity into every piece.

A passionate hobbyist sewist, she loves giving new life to worn-out fabrics from reusable masks to cozy home pieces. Through SvaDhruthi’s ThreadTogether initiative, she supports repairing, reusing, and recycling. Saving the planet, one garment at a time.

Jenny discovered her love for sewing in 1998 through a beginner quilting class. She enjoys transforming old fabrics into quilts, clothing, and upcycled home pieces. Through mending and repurposing, she gives new life to everyday textiles.

With years of experience and technical expertise, she provides precise, high-quality alterations—from wedding dresses to everyday clothing. Every piece is handled with care, offering reliable, affordable service with 24-hour express options available. Fast, affordable, and flawless.
